For Immediate Release

– “Now I have a life. I am here and I am alive. I was fixable.”

TROIS-RIVIÈRES, QC, CANADA, April 10, 2012 – “The Narconon drug rehabilitation program is a voluntary, drug-free, social-education model,” says Andre Ahern, director of legal affairs at Narconon Trois Rivières. “‘Voluntary’ and ‘drug-free’ are key words,” he adds, “for the thousands of students accepted into the Narconon program around the world.”

Last December, Mrs. Yvonne Keller sent her son to enroll in the Narconon program. Unfortunately, according to Ahern, he very soon manifested violent and irrational behavior demonstrating that he was not qualified to do the Narconon drug-free, educational model. In addition, he expressed heatedly that he himself had no desire to do the program. After six days of refusal to receive services, Narconon Trois-Rivières, says Ahern, had no choice but to let him leave the facility. He was happy that he could leave, as was appropriate since he did not wish to be there of his own choice, and he was put on a bus home.

We totally agree with the comments made by Mrs. Keller to CBC News,” said Ahern, regarding her dismay that she could find no public treatment available for her son and that lack of treatment beds has been a huge obstacle for years.
“We sincerely hope that Mrs. Keller will find a suitable program that will be able to help her son,” says Ahern.

Narconon Trois-Rivieres Drug Rehabilitation Center

Narconon centers deliver a drug free program model that has saved tens of thousands of lives from people worldwide. Narconon drug rehab is licensed to use and delivers a secular program model, based on years of research by author and humanitarian, L. Ron Hubbard. Also known as the founder of Scientology, Mr. Hubbard had spent years looking into the effects of drugs on the mind and body when he responded in the late 1960s to a request for help from heroin addict William Benitez, who had just founded the Narconon program in Arizona State Prison, based on his own reading of Mr. Hubbard’s works. “From the beginning,” says Ahern, “Bill Benitez said that this model of drug rehabilitation would be based on Hubbard’s concept of raising life skills and personal ability.” From this beginning, the secular Narconon program has expanded to be used by centers around the world.

We have so many letters of thanks from parents or others about the recovery of a loved one,” says Ahern. Quoting from just one letter sent to a Toronto newspaper just last week:
“My daughter lost her way while attending university in Toronto. She is beautiful, intelligent and very talented. A new love introduced her to cocaine and a nightmare was born.
“I was desperate to rescue my daughter and my internet search led me to Narconon…
“For 4 months, I had support from the Narconon [Trois Rivieres] staff and I was given as much information as I needed to calm my fears. I visited the center as often as I wanted…I knew she was getting tools for her to apply to her life and they would always stay with her…She was progressing, changing, and recovering.
“…I will always remain grateful to Narconon and their belief in aiding people to conquer their addiction. What a challenge! Today my daughter is clean and much better equipped to solve the ups and downs that life brings to us.
“Did Narconon save my daughter’s life? Of this, I have no doubt.”
L.S., Kingston, Ontario

David Love, who made numerous negative comments in the CBC interview with Mrs. Keller, was also a student at Narconon Trois Rivieres for 5 months. Love has said publicly that he had been a drug addict for 35 years. While he was in the program, he wrote voluntarily a number of remarkable success stories about his wins and gains. “It strikes me most strange,” says Ahern, “that Love is now attacking the very group that per his earlier statements saved his life. He changed his mind, apparently, after he began receiving payments from members of the Anonymous criminal network, dozens of whom have been arrested around the world recently. But what did David Love say when he was actually here, doing the program? Here is just one sample in Love’s own writing from 8 March, 2009.”

Wow! This was a ‘Big One.’ Over the past 4 decades, I have been to several detox and rehab centers across Canada. I thought I was OK and ‘good to go’ but soon after leaving the centers, I was addicted again and in worse condition. I was lost, afraid, and expressed a lot of anger because of the pain. I felt that too much time has passed and perhaps I was ‘unfixable.’ In fact, half way through [this Narconon course], I discussed this with a Narconon staff member. I was assured that if I just followed the program and ‘let it happen’ that I was ‘fixable.’ This assurance helped a lot. Although I still had some reservations, I began to focus on where I was and what I was doing. You can only understand it once you do it… and it is amazing and incredible! This book has helped to change my life. Now I have a life. I am here and I am alive. I was fixable.”

That, says Ahern, is the true product of Narconon – “Now I have a life. I am here and I am alive. I was fixable.”

Differences between OxyContin Addiction and Heroin Addiction

without comments

In an addict’s view, the differences between Heroin addiction and OxyContin addiction are virtually non-existent. Both heroin and OxyContin are semi-synthetic opioid drugs derived from the opium poppy. OxyContin is basically oxycodone – derived from the alkaloid thebaine of the opium poppy, and heroin is diacetylmorphine, derived from morphine, from the opium poppy. Both are CNS (central nervous system) depressants, opioid analgesics. Both are highly addictive, with tolerance and dependence. With both heroin and OxyContin it is easy to overdose. Users all have different views as to which is the most addictive, or the hardest to withdraw from. “Addicts often switch back and forth from OxyContin to heroin, a matter of availability more than anything else, because the buzz or the “high” experienced is basically the same or the closest you can get.” reports JF Dubreuil of Narconon Trois-Rivieres. He also remarks that over 20% of the calls they receive on their addiction help line is regarding addiction to OxyContin and oxycodone products. http://www.narconon.ca/oxycontin.htm

OxyContin Differences between OxyContin Addiction and Heroin Addiction

OxyContin Addiction

Heroin addiction is supported by smoking, snorting or injecting heroin as a white or brownish powder, sometimes a black resin (black tar heroin) depending on its purity. Heroin is an illicit drug; you get it off the street. OxyContin addiction comes with capsules manufactured by Purdue Pharma, a prescription drug that can cause oxy addiction, even when used as prescribed, otherwise illicitly available on internet and the street. Risks of associated disease such as HIV, syphilis, and hepatitis are higher with heroin addiction due to contamination when injecting.

Although a few countries such as Britain and Belgium use heroin medically, it is not a prescription drug. Heroin is generally a Schedule 1 drug and can only be obtained illegally. Anyone’s heroin addiction is supported by criminal activities in order to get supply. There is a stigma attached to heroin addiction – a life degraded by dope. OxyContin addiction only takes its users down the slippery slope into crime when oxy addicts can no longer persuade their doctor to prescribe for them the amount of oxy that they need to support their habit. A great number of OxyContin addictions started with using oxy tablets as prescription drugs for the relief of physical pain. Heroin addiction is generally a result of intentional “pleasure seeking” in a life beset with social and emotional problems.

People with a heroin addiction tend to join drug communities – using hit houses (safe injection sites). People with OxyContin addiction, as a result of prescription drug use, are generally part of mainstream society – although predominantly from lower socio-economic groups.

Both heroin addiction and OxyContin addiction http://www.oxycontinaddict.org/ cause symptoms of drowsiness, feelings of well being and contentment. Long term use brings symptoms of a “sluggish” system, with constipation, loss of sexual drive, irregular periods, and general loss of appetite – leading to malnutrition and lack of interest in personal hygiene. Both drugs are dangerous in combination with alcohol or benzodiazepines.

Withdrawal brings symptoms of diarrhea, muscle spasms, abdominal cramps, hot or cold sweats, pain, sleeplessness and anxiety.

Differences between Heroin addiction and OxyContin addiction are minimal in a chemical sense, such that drug treatments that work for OxyContin addiction will work for heroin addiction as well.

For complete addiction recovery – no cravings, no triggers, no drugs – comprehensive, natural, drug-free methods are best. OxyContin addiction treatment center like Narconon Trois-Rivières employs such methods. http://www.narconon.ca/

Drinking & Driving Statistics prompt Narconon Trois-Rivieres to ask: Should Drunk Drivers all go to Alcohol Rehab?

without comments

Trois-Rivieres, QC  February 02, 2011

Narconon Trois-Rivieres is launching a Drinking and Driving PSA campaign for Canada in order to counter raising statistics of fatal accidents due to impaired driving. Anyone who gets behind the wheel of a car and operates it while intoxicated is risking not only their own life, but many others as well. This is true even if it happens for the first time. All it takes is one time with a drunk driver for someone to get killed. Anyone who is willing to take that chance obviously needs counseling. If nothing else, they need a reality check. Drunk driving takes lives of innocent people, even children. There is no excuse for it. “That’s why we’ve launched our second Drinking and Driving video PSA this week” reports JF Dubreuil of  Narconon Trois-Rivieres.

Drinking and Driving Drinking & Driving Statistics prompt Narconon Trois Rivieres to ask: Should Drunk Drivers all go to Alcohol Rehab?

Stop Drinking and Driving

Drunk drivers are taking many dangerous chances every time they get behind the wheel of the car. They disregard not only their own safety, but that of others. This type of thinking is extremely dangerous. They cognitively know the dangers of drunk driving, and yet deny that alcohol affects their own driving. This should be sending up a red flag across the world. Too many people have died because someone drove after consuming alcohol. Letting it happen only once is too many.

Alcohol impairs reaction time and judgment. That is a known fact. Often, because of the effects of the alcohol, the drunken driver survives the accidents, but others aren’t so lucky. It takes only a split second swerving into the wrong lane for disaster to occur. By then, it’s too late. Then, the drunk driver must take responsibility for his or her actions. Too often, they turn, once again to alcohol. There is no such thing as an accidental drunk driving accident.

Alcohol rehab helps people to take responsibility for their actions.  Drinking and driving is simply not acceptable and should be reason for treatment of some kind. It is so prevalent that many people do not even blink when someone confesses they were drunk the night before and it is assumed they drove home. That shows how society has silently accepted drunk driving. If someone were drunk and waving around a machine gun, plenty of people would be taking notice. A car is a weapon when in the control of a drunk driver. It’s as simple as that.

Every time someone drives drunk, it gets easier and easier for them to do it. It is only a matter of time before something terrible happens. Obtaining alcohol rehabilitation can very well prevent some innocent person from being injured, or even killed. That alone makes it worthwhile.

Narconon Trois-Rivieres is launching this campaign after a successful Drinking and Driving video PSA run during the Holiday Season: The  Narconon Trois-Rivières – Don’t Drink and Drive PSA

Narconon Trois-Rivières – a natural Alternative to Drug Addiction

without comments

Narconon Trois-Rivieres has been in existence for years offering people a natural alternative to drug addiction. During this time, a countless number of people have achieved success in beating drug addiction. The Narconon rehabilitation program has been a fresh start to a new life for many people over four decades. The reason Narconon has been so successful is that their rehabilitation program works says JF Dubreuil of Narconon Trois-Rivieres.

narconon drug addiction rehab Narconon Trois Rivières a natural Alternative to Drug Addiction

Drug Addiction Rehabilitation Help

A natural alternative to drug addiction is one that offers holistic-like treatment without substituting one drug for another. Holistic-like treatment is one that involves physical, mental, and spiritual healing. Alcoholism and drug addiction effect the entire person, not just one aspect of that person. In order to treat addictions, the entire person must be treated. Narconon Trois-Rivieres offers this type of natural alternative to drug addiction. Rehabilitation is a lot more than simply ridding the body of the unwanted chemicals. It is much more. The rehabilitation program at Narconon Trois-Rivieres goes the distance to offer a better chance at success.

People who want to truly beat drug addiction are not looking to swap one addiction for another. The only way to completely be free of drugs is by using a natural method of treatment. Narconon Trois-Rivieres uses a combination of treatments in their rehabilitation program. Among them is the use of a sauna. This natural method of therapy not only helps to rid the body of drugs, but also offers relaxation. It is a method that has worked for many people over the years, and continues to help the fight against drug addiction.

It is the use of drugs that begins drug addiction. Only the complete absence of drugs is going to treat drug addiction. Narconon Trois-Rivieres, and their drug rehabilitation offers this natural alternative. Drug detoxification, as well as education and learned skills to stay away from drugs is a rehabilitation method that works. Just read the positive Narconon Trois-Rivières reviews of people who have written rave reviews of the program.

Living drug-free should mean just that; being free of drugs. “Medical therapy” is a method which substitutes one drug for another and does not really end the problem of drug use. It simply changes a person from drug addict to drug dependent. Only a natural alternative to drug addiction will be affective. Rehabilitation at Narconon Trois-Rivieres offers life long freedom from the use of drugs.

Narconon Graduates Coming out of the Shadows to Proclaim Victory

without comments

In the past, recovery from alcohol and drug addiction was kept under wraps. Not only drug abuse, but recovery was kept hush-hush and considered taboo. This caused a stigma that has been very difficult to overcome. Graduates of the drug rehab program Narconon Trois-Rivieres are changing that. They are coming out of the shadows to proclaim victory over drug addiction in hopes that others who battle addiction can win their own victories.

Several videos have been released, says JF Dubreuil of Narconon Trois-Rivieres and more are expected, featuring graduates of the program and the drug rehab center. These individuals are willing to step out of the shadows in order for the truth to be known. They tell, in their own words, of their own battle with drug addiction and how Narconon Trois-Rivieres offered them a new life. Their bravery at coming out into the open is exceptional and should be recognized. They admit to, even elaborate on their former addictions and also tell of their new lives and new goals.

What these individuals are doing is offering hope and trying to break the taboo of admitting past drug use. Drug addicts can and do achieve success, as proven by these and other individuals who have graduated from the Narconon Trois-Rivieres rehab center. They are not proud of their drug use, but rather appropriately laud their success at overcoming drug addiction. They offer hope and help to others who are battling drug addiction. Narconon Trois-Rivieres is more than just a rehab center, it is a means to a new and improved life.

Drug addiction only means an end to life if the drug addiction does not end. Those who make the choice to end their addiction at Narconon Trois-Rivieres greatly improve their chance at success at a drug-free life. Graduates tell about their own addictions so that others still fighting the battle can identify with their struggle. Those who are still struggling with drug addiction need to hear the stories from the graduates of Narconon Trois-Rivieres. They need to know that others have fought that battle and won. Loved ones of drug addicts also need to see that there is hope. There is a place where all of the tools are available to overcome drug addiction.

Coming out of the shadows is a major step for not only the graduates of the successful drug rehab program, but also for those who need to see that hope is possible, and available. The graduates of Narconon Trois-Rivieres should be praised for their bravery and courage in this remarkable venture for a new drug-free life.

“Stop Addiction with Narconon Trois Rivières” a Narconon PSA Video

without comments

Some of the best Narconon reviews are those that come from the graduates of the Narconon Trois-Rivieres drug rehabilitation program. Three Narconon Trois-Rivières graduates provide their comments and reviews of the Narconon Trois Rivieres drug rehabilitation program in the PSA video “Stop Addiction with Narconon Trois Rivieres”.

Hope from Narconon Trois Rivieres “Stop Addiction with Narconon Trois Rivières” a Narconon PSA Video

Addiction Help from Narconon Trois-Rivieres

Understanding drug addiction is the key to successful drug rehabilitation and addiction recovery says JF Dubreuil of Narconon Trois-Rivieres.

Three graduates tell it like it is for them to be free of drug addiction, after successful completion of drug rehabilitation at Narconon Trois-Rivières.
Each of the graduates in their own way speaks of the life to come, making your own decisions, equipped to flourish, and leading a normal life. Narconon Trois-Rivières drug rehabilitation gives people the gift of a healthy, happy life.

All of the graduates speak about change – the change in their lives that has happened as a result of Narconon Trois-Rivières drug rehabilitation giving to each one hope.
The young man is so happy it feels as if you could reach out and give him a hug. Happiness is contagious, and Narconon Trois-Rivières drug rehabilitation program  is certainly spreading it around. Only someone seriously unhappy in themselves could fail to be uplifted by the simple messages of new found happiness and joy.
It is said that happiness is one side of the plate, the other side is sorrow. It takes courage for people with drug addiction to enter drug rehabilitation. As the other man says in the video – Narconon Trois-Rivieres drug rehabilitation is thorough. Getting to know yourself, just as you are, your vulnerabilities and strengths can be confronting. Yet, the way to happiness and drug addiction recovery is first to know ourselves.
No one can fully know themselves when still involved with drugs – or feel completely alive. To the extent that drug addiction controls our actions, we have lost some part of ourselves, and our natural capacity to feel free and fully alive.
The woman in the Narconon Trois-Rivières video psa (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GWdy41GN_08)   speaks straight from the heart, thanking Narconon Trois-Rivières for the gift of life. In practical terms the young man says he has wasted so much money on drug addiction that has only spoilt his life, he is happy to have spent so much less to recover from drug addiction.
One of the very touching Narconon reviews, and spoken from the heart, Narconon Trois-Rivières can help you to reclaim your life from the bondage of drug addiction.

Narconon Trois-Rivieres Celebrates Victory over Drug Abuse in 2010

with one comment

Trois-Rivières, Québec, Canada: Narconon Trois-Rivieres saved lives in 2010 and vows to save even more people from the grip of drug and alcohol addiction in 2011. Marc Bernard, the Executive Director of Narconon Trois-Rivières expresses joy over the many people who have beaten addiction and now live happy, healthy lives. He continues on to say: “A person who has become free of drug and alcohol dependence is not only improving the quality of his or her life but this also helps to create islands of sanity in the communities where the ex-addict returns. With this in mind
we, the Narconon Trois-Rivières Staff and I, are committed to do our
part in 2011 to help even more individuals to beat their addiction and
therefore contribute to better our society at large.”

Graduates of the Narconon Trois-Rivieres program and rehab center in 2010 praise the program and staff. Some comments include:

Narconon Trois Rivieres Rehab Center Narconon Trois Rivieres Celebrates Victory over Drug Abuse in 2010

“This program has changed my life completely. I have never completed something big in my life and this is a huge step into my life. My perspective on life has changed completely and I’m looking forward to starting a new clean sober life. Thanks to the Narconon program and the staff.” — C.S.

“I feel so happy to be a whole, solid, strong confident person again. It is great to have found me again!” –S.K.

“The feeling I have now after completing the Narconon program is something I never thought would be possible for me. The tools the program gave me, the knowledge and the confidence to live a drug free life exceed far beyond any expectation I had when coming in the program. I know now that I have the control to be the contributing member of society that I always wanted to be. All the wins and gains that I got out of this program are unexplainable. They are going to be carried with me for the rest of my life.

“I saved my life with the Narconon program; my decision to come to this program was the best decision I’ve ever made in my life. I’m looking forward to applying everything I’ve learned here when I leave.” — A.S.

The Narconon Trois-Rivieres rehab center is committed to change even more lives in the upcoming year by providing more information and out-reach to communities. As one of the graduates in 2010 states: “I love this program. It’s not easy but it makes you so strong!” — M.R. Narconon Trois-Rivieres gives straight answers and has a proven track record when it comes to success.

Drug rehab at its best can be found at Narconon Trois-Rivieres, and the words of the graduates speak volumes to their efforts.  Those who have completed the program (and Narconon boasts a very high rate of success) could not imagine having chosen a different drug rehab. They are truly happy, changed people through the efforts of Narconon Trois-Rivieres and their successful program methods. One graduate constructed a lengthy “thank you” to the staff at Narconon. This, in part, is the sentiment it conveyed: “And today, not only do I have my life back, and a drug free life, but I have gained SO much more. My belief in myself is BACK. For the first time in as long as I can remember, I have self-worth. Actually, I don’t EVER remember ever feeling like I WAS worth anything, to anybody since I was a child.” –L.V.

The beginning of the New Year is the perfect time for people to admit to their addictions and seek help. Narconon Trois-Rivieres will be there to provide that help. Their knowledgeable staff and proven methods will allow even more people to become drug and alcohol free in 2011, thanks to their drug rehab.

How Can Narconon Trois-Rivières Help You Start the Year on the Right Foot

with one comment

The New Year is almost here and people are beginning to make their resolutions. It is much the same as any other year. However, it could be the most remarkable year ever if an addict decides to abandon their abuse and live a drug-free life. It is one of the most important and life changing resolutions that can be made, and Narconon Trois-Rivières can help addicts achieve that says Marc Bernard, Executive Director of the facility.

Not only the addict, but loved ones dream of a day when drugs no longer run their lives. They dream of a New Year with happiness instead of pain and tears. This can be the year to make that happen. Narconon Trois-Rivières has helped so many people to leave drugs and alcohol behind and begin new lives. Their drug rehabilitation centers use proven methods to rid the body of unwanted chemicals and also to teach addicts how to react to triggers and stress instead of turning to drugs. They understand what addiction does and how to leave it behind.

Narconon Trois Rivieres Graduation 500 How Can Narconon Trois Rivières Help You Start the Year on the Right Foot

Narconon Trois-Rivières Graduation

This year can be different for addicts and their families. A New Year without drugs is a dream just waiting to happen. How many lives could be happier if addiction were not a part of them? For every addict, there are many people who are affected. Friends, loved ones, co-workers, even entire communities are affected by addiction. What a great year it could be for everyone involved if there were no addictions. Every addict must make a choice, every day, whether to continue addiction. All it takes is that one day when they say “enough is enough. Today, I’m going to change my life.”

M. Bernard tells us : Narconon Trois-Rivières has the resources to help addicts deal with life’s stress and hardships. There are other ways to deal with them other than drugs and alcohol. In fact, drugs and alcohol cause more stress than they relieve. Most of the time, an addict cannot see that until they are drug-free. Then, it all makes sense. Drug rehabilitation centers help to make sense of it all.

There is hope, and there is happiness available to anyone, including drug and alcohol addicts and their loved ones. Narconon Trois-Rivières reaches out to people with addictions every day offering that hope and happiness. The New Year can bring about a wonderful change in the life of an addict and their loved ones. Addiction can be beaten, and Narconon Trois-Rivières helps do just that.

The Sensible Present for a Loved One Stuck in Addiction

without comments

- Narconon Trois-Rivières Drug Rehabilitation

So, while we are scurrying around trying to find the perfect gift for everyone on our list, the question arises; What do I get for my addicted friend (loved one)? The biggest mistake people make this time of year is ignoring the problem of alcoholism and drug addiction. Denying it, or ignoring it won’t solve the problem. The loved one with the addiction doesn’t “need” money (you know how they’ll spend it). They don’t need a new robe, or a new coffee mug. What they need is help. What better gift to give than a spot in an effective drug treatment center such as Narconon Trois-Rivières? It’s a gift that will always be appreciated in the long run.

Ending the cycle can bring new possibilities to the loved one who is going through addiction. Narconon Trois-Rivières and other effective drug treatment centers provide all of the tools needed to beat the addiction and go on to lead a happy, healthy life. That’s quite a gift! It probably won’t be warmly received at first, but once they have completed the program, they will agree that it is the best gift they have ever gotten; the gift of living life anew. They probably would never expect the gift of effective drug treatment, but it is what is needed.

Happy Holidays!

They don’t need a new robe, or a new coffee mug. What they need is help. What better gift to give than a spot in an effective drug treatment center such as Narconon Trois-Rivières? It’s a gift that will always be appreciated in the long run.
